My Companion Training programme is made up of four core levels;
Puppy Power, Explorer, Pioneer and Ranger, with each level building
on the previous as your dog progresses from a puppy to an adult dog.
Your dog will be trained using only positive techniques and will be
lots of fun for you and the family. In keeping with the informal
nature of my training, there is no formal examination at the end of
the course; all that I ask is that you complete each level before
moving onto subsequent levels.

Puppy Power
“Puppy Power” is a short 4 week course. The focus of Puppy Power is
quite simply to cram the most fun into a session as possible through
playing games to enhance essential skills such as come when called,
walking on a loose lead, stay and sit, down and stand as well as
learning loads of great new tricks. Whilst you can never have too
much fun with your dog, the aim of Puppy Power is to continue to
socialise your puppy whilst building a strong positive association
with the training venue. The more comfortable your dog is from the
very start of their training the more everybody will get out of the
sessions.
Each class has a maximum of 8 available spaces, to allow every dog
to reach its full potential. The Puppy Power course runs for four
weeks at a cost of £9 per class making a total of £36.

Explorer
The first level, Explorer, aims to enable your dog to learn
essential commands that are used everyday in the household and
when out and about. Your dog will be trained using only positive
techniques and will be lots of fun for you and the family.
Below are examples of the exercises your dog will learn during
the course:-
-
Stay – with distractions and at a distance
-
Come when called from environmental distractions including
people and other dogs
-
Emergency stops
-
Controlled walking amongst people
-
Control through doors and gates
-
Retrieve
-
Fun tricks (including basic agility)
-
Walking on a loose lead
-
Socialisation (with people and other dogs)
In keeping with the informal nature of my training, there is no
formal examination at the end of the course; all that I ask is
that you complete each level before moving onto subsequent
levels. At the end of the Explorer course your dog will though
have the skills to be eligible for the Kennel Club Good Citizen
Bronze Award. Whilst this qualification is not part of the
course, I do organise periodic examinations for those who
complete my Explorer training and wish to obtain the award.
Each class has a maximum of 8 available spaces, to allow every
dog to reach its full potential. Each course will last for eight
weeks and cost £8.50 per class making a total of £68.00 per
course. Included in this cost is a record of achievement diary
and an easy to use handbook with full notes for each class.
Details of forthcoming Explorer level courses:
