"Behaviour Training in a class of its own"

Behavioural AdviceI

Some dogs may show signs of anxiety when left alone, aggression towards other dogs or people, destruction, housetraining issues or fear of people, dogs or noises.  Support for such issues is available.  After an initial behaviour consultation a report will be provided detailing the possible causes of the problem and a behaviour modification programme to manage the situation.  A follow up consultation will be provided to discuss the programme and thereafter support will be provided in the form of 1-1 sessions.  To download a vets referral form please click here.

One- to- One Canine Training

One to one training classes are also available. These classes are appropriate for dogs that may be anxious around other dogs or people. Alternatively your dog may become easily excited around other dogs and people and consequently finds it hard to concentrate on training.  In these cases one to one training classes can be more appropriate than group training.  One to one classes may also be more appropriate if you require for your dog to learn specific commands more thoroughly, such as walking on a loose lead or stopping chasing.

Puppy School

Puppy School logoPuppy school is a series of specialist classes designed for puppies under the age of 20 weeks.  The classes are
held at Enmore Village Hall on Wednesday evenings and at Blake Vet Group in Bridgwater on Thursday evenings for a period of six  weeks. Over the six weeks your puppy will learn the basic commands such as sit, down and stand, walking on a loose lead, come when called (including from distractions) and stay.  In addition your puppy will be able to socialise with other people and puppies.  All of the classes are so much fun and very relaxed.  What’s more, all of the family are very welcome! Visit www.puppyschool.co.uk for further information.

  Home visits & Local Classes

Training sessions, regardless of whether your dog is a puppy, adult or a senior or whether the purpose of the classes are for puppy training, advanced training or for behaviour modification are held at
Enmore Village Hall.  Alternatively you may wish for the sessions to be held within the comforts of your own home and surroundings.

Kennel Club Good Citizenship Scheme

The Kennel Club Good Citizenship Dog Scheme is a programme of dog training at four different levels:- Bronze, Silver, Gold and puppy foundation assessment.  Each consecutive level is designed to enhance your understanding of your dog and build upon the partnership between you and your dog. The course is straightforward and non-competitive.  On successful completion of each of the tests, participants will be awarded a Certificate to mark your combined achievement and a rosette on completion of the Bronze Award.  Therefore if you think your dog can be a good citizen, come and train at Enmore Village Hall or click here to visit the Kennel Club website for further details.
